The 2018  Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards ( AMVCA) was held yesterday night September 1 at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites  in Lagos, Nigeria to celebrate achievements in the movie industry.   Stars including Olu Jacobs and wife Joke Silva, Rita Dominic, Shaffy Bello, Ireti Doyle etc. made appearances on the red carpet . Though the main focus of the festival is the films and awards, we can't ignore the fashionable ensembles worn by these celebrities and guests. The event was hosted once again by  Nigerian on-air personality IK Osakioduwa alongside South Africa’s Minnie Dlamini-Jones. In memory of past movie stars, multitalented Bisola Aiyeola (Ex BBN housemates) rendered a beautiful performance. Cobhams killed it with an incredible song. It was indeed a standing ovation. Yesterday, trucks and armoured vehicles of  The African Union/UN Hybrid operation in  Darfur , referred to by its acronym UNAMID, were conveyed out of the port in Apapa Lagos. There are speculations that the UN wants to deploy soldiers to Nigeria to help tackle the security problems in the country. We will keep you posted.

Nigerian Artist Dbanj has lost his son Daniel after he drowned in a pool in his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.  What a painful loss, the  singer celebrated his son's first birthday in May 2018. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Please say a prayer for Dbanj and his family. May God give them the fortitude to bear the loss, Amen.
